Wellbridge Athletic Club-Harvard Square offers private, semi-private and group classes for adults of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or an experienced swimmer, our experienced instructors take pride in providing customized lessons that meet your needs and goals.

We offer private, semi-private and group swimming lessons for adults. Whether you want to learn how to swim, perfect your stroke, or train for a triathlon, we offer classes that will allow you to meet your swimming goals.

Private and Semi-Private
Swim Instruction

Lessons are scheduled at your convenience for 30, 45, or 60 minutes with a qualified swimming instructor. You may also elect to take a class with a friend, partner, etc., and enjoy semi-private lessons.

Group Lessons

Beginner, intermediate, and fitness-focused swimmers will benefit from our 6-week groups classes. Pre-registration is required as there is a maximum number of 5 students per class to ensure participants receive individualized attention in a comfortable setting.

Our aquatics program offers group swimming lessons ranging from getting more comfortable in the water to refining technique. We offer four group swimming lesson levels:

Swim 1
This class is for beginner swimmers. In this relaxing and non-intimidating class, you can learn, or improve, front crawl stroke, also known as freestyle. You will discover how to relax in the water and learn the most effective kicking, arm stroke, and breathing exercises so you can safely enjoy water activities for the rest of your life!

Swim 2
This class is for those who have taken SWIM 1 classes or who can swim at least 25 yards of front crawl with rotary breathing and also float on their back. In this level 2 class, you will learn additional swimming drills to help you improve the front crawl, build endurance, learn proper back stroke, use basic turns, and begin swimming laps.

Swim 3
This class is for those who have taken SWIM 2 classes or who can swim at least 50 yards of front and back stroke. In this level 3 class, we will implement interval training, learn breast stroke, and introduce butterfly kicking and flip turns.

Swim 4
This class is for those who have taken Intermediate Level 3 classes or who can swim at least 100 yards of front crawl, back crawl, and breast stroke. In Level 4 we will use interval training, and you will learn butterfly and flip turns
