Wellbridge (formerly Club Sports International) was founded in 1983 in Denver, Colorado and quickly became a leading management company in the health & fitness industry. Wellbridge has managed clubs for some of the country’s top real estate developers, property managers and financial institutions. Wellbridge has also been involved in the development of more than 1.5 million square feet of club facilities ranging in size from 10,000 square foot corporate fitness centers to 200,000 square foot mega clubs. Its Clubs include full-service spas, fitness centers, multi-purpose athletic clubs and hotel gyms.

In March 1997, Wellbridge entered into a strategic partnership with two investment firms, Chilmark Partners and Starwood Capital Group, who shared the company’s vision to capitalize on the emerging opportunities in the fitness and wellness market. The two professional investment groups infused this highly successful, entrepreneurial company with investor oversight and new capital to fuel growth plans. 

In 2006, Wellbridge Management acquired the company and continues the legacy of premier clubs. Through a combination of greenfield development, acquisition strategy and industry expertise, Wellbridge will continue as a predominant operator of upscale athletic clubs in the country.
